Hi all
So who here is a mac user that creates web sights, along with creating data bases and managing data bases. I am asking because I’m about to start in the fall my courses to become a web page designer and data base management. Any help is really appreciated.

I have worked in some html and css, and I have been a mac user for 8 years, though I have never made one on the mac, but I am sure I could help some how. What questions do you have?

I wanted to know what applications are used to design web pages, what data base applications on the mac useable with voiceover. If my post does not make sense my bad, its a new field for me. I have requested a mac to use for school, gaging how many times I need to move over to bootcamp VS staying with OSX and Voiceover.

You can say I'm a new user who used to have a 13 inch midd 2012 mac running a boot camp of windows 7.
again thank you for your help

bringing the topic back to the top, like the tytal of my board says, is it truly possible to stay in the mac's OSX OS and create, manage and deploy web pages, data bases and app development. Really do need to know my topics information for up coming school.

Hi, all after researching the crap out of my board it appears if I get a mac for school I'll need to boot camp. Android development is supported only on the windows side. Figure I would post for another ZB member wanted to head in the direction I'm heading. However, I've not got an answer yet on how web page creation linked with data base creating and managing works on the mac side.

starfly,

Can you post a link with your class's description? What software they're going to use to do WebPage creation, same for Database Creation? This way I can look into it myself since I do have a Mac I can test out stuff on. I want to know if the creation will be done locally or if it will be done on a WebHost such as WiredTree. My Mac runs Lion, but I think I can upgrade it, I'm just not sure how far.

You should be able to use textmate as your text editor on your mac to write HTML. You can then use homebrew from a terminal to install a web server, database system such as mysql, etc. You can do everything you need to from the command-line with a little pacients and learning curve.
